Our first night in Split, we dined at Bokeria Kitchen & Wine. Bokeria was inspired by the La Boqueira market in Barcelona. It's a big restaurant, set in a building that once was a hardware store. The modern two-story interior has shelves lining its walls, stacked with wine and liquor bottles.
Bokeria's seasonal menu is best described as Mediterranean, and includes a selection of Croatian tapas-style dishes, plus larger entrees. We started with the lamb croquettes and the fried bombolini. Both dishes were fried to perfection and exploded with taste on the inside. They were every bit as good as they looked.

The lamb was average, at best, perhaps suffering from the goopy polenta it was immersed in. I'd had my eye on the Bokeria Burger since we'd checked out the menu earlier in the day, and I wasn't disappointed. The white cheddar and black truffle mayo richly bathed the medium rare burger.
